Frequently asked questions

Do Vanta and Drata offer EU hosting?

Vanta documents an EU data centre in Frankfurt on AWS that customers must request, and notes that supporting services or subprocessors may operate outside that region. Drata's security page names AWS and Google Cloud without regions; we found no publicly documented EU-hosted instance (checked in October 2026).

Why does EU hosting matter for NIS2 and DORA?

Your GRC platform holds risk registers, incident records, audit evidence and supplier information. Under NIS2 (Article 21) and DORA (ICT third-party risk), you are expected to manage the risks of the ICT providers you rely on, and GDPR applies to the personal data in those records. Knowing the country, provider and legal entity behind your platform makes that assessment simpler.

Which GRC platforms are hosted in the EU?

Among the products we checked, Secrato (Antwerp, Belgium), Tidal Control and Basenorm (Azure West Europe, Netherlands), CISO Assistant (France, with a Netherlands secondary region), verinice.cloud (Berlin) and Kertos (European AWS) state EU hosting, and Hyperproof and OneTrust offer EU instances. See the table for details and sources.

Is Secrato a European company?

Yes. Secrato is headquartered in Belgium and hosts all customer data on self-managed infrastructure in a Tier IV data centre in Antwerp.
